SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH OFFER

The Department of Avionics and Control Systems has research facilities enabling the implementation of didactic tasks and research. The Avionics Equipment Certification Laboratory, the Aviation Equipment Laboratory, the Laboratory of Professional Predisposition of Operators, and the Laboratory of Performing Prototype Avionics Systems are just some of them. In addition, a number of measuring and research equipment is supported by the research and teaching work of the Department. Cooperation with aviation centers in the country and abroad supports the development of knowledge in the field of the Department's profile, and other units of the University (Aviation Training Center, Academic Gliding Center in Bezmiechowa) cooperate in the field of tests in real conditions.

Thermo-barochamber:

The study of the influence of temperature (-70 - + 150ºC) and pressure (100hPa - 1200hPa absolute) includes electronic devices (possibility of connecting inside electric signals and power supply), the possibility of configuring the stand with the use of two conduits with a diameter of 100mm. Working space 600x500x500mm.

Programmable measurement systems for aviation:

Measurement systems used to measure flight parameters of manned and unmanned airplanes. Control systems with built-in measurement systems, such as AHRS, GPS, ADC. Our department is ready to establish research cooperation in the implementation of projects related to the broadly understood control of aircraft, flight parameters measurements, identification of objects of various configurations and various equipment. There is a possibility to perform both design and development works, flight tests and Hardware In the Loop tests on dedicated test stands.

Modular Pressure Controller and Calibrator – PACE6000:

It enables testing the properties of pressure transducers in the range (100-1100hPa), especially in aviation devices.

Station for testing professional predispositions of operators - WOMBAT & DuoWOMBAT:

Laboratory of professional predispositions of operators is based on the WOMBAT computer system by Aero Innovations, which determines psychotechnical predispositions in terms of resistance to stress, concentration skills, manual skills and decision-making skills in the machine control process. It was created to determine the capabilities of aircraft pilots, having a direct impact on the safety and efficiency of machine control and auxiliary devices. It is also used to determine natural predispositions to control special machines. The system enables individual (WOMBAT-CS) and team tests (cooperation in the crew - Duo-WOMBAT).

Station for testing real-time control systems, especially aerial vehicles:

Experimental selection of control laws for industrial objects (including aerial vehicles) with real-time control simulation.

Station for testing resistance to vibrations:

The inductor of harmonic and random vibrations as well as the system of measurement and analysis of measurement results enable testing the resistance of devices to vibration acceleration.

Centrifugal separator:

Testing the resistance of devices to linear accelerations during their operation.

Station for calibration of sensors measuring spatial orientation and angular velocities:

One, two, three-axis platforms with high accuracy angular settings and generating set angular velocities in relation to any axis of rotation.

Altium Designer electronics design system station:

The system allows to design an electronic device from a schematic diagram, through the board and its housing. It allows to simulate the layout and optimize the placement of elements. It has a programmable circuit design module.

Station with temperature distribution analyzer:

The station is designed to observe the temperature distribution in modern electronic systems. It allows to make thermal analyzes of static and dynamic phenomena occurring in devices. In the design process, it enables the optimization of the device in terms of thermal conditions and the assessment of the impact of design changes on these conditions.

Optical inspection system station:

The device is used for inspection and testing of assembly correctness and repair of prototypes of electronic circuits in SMT technology. It allows to view the quality of BGA soldering and linear measurements. It also enables the surface inspection of small mechanical components.
